Ecclesiastes 1-6

- Life is a mist that doesn't go anywhere, ultimately, it seems.
- I (Solomon) tried satisfying myself with every pleasure and great work projects, but it was all empty. The best thing is to find enjoyment, but this doesn't come automatically. God must give it.
- There is a time for everything; eternity is in our hearts, but we are limited by death.
- oppression doesn't relent; work comes from lonely envy; companionship is good; popularity doesn't last.
- filling up life with words and business is pride. Fear God instead.
- with power and wealth can come restless oppression and envy. Only God can give enjoyment of riches and honor.
